REGULATIONS: SAT and SAT with Essay / SAT Subject Exams

Students MAY NOT take only the Math sections. They must sit for the entire exam. This is non-negotiable and the policy of College Board.


Procedure for All Exams:

Due to flooring, we do not allow high heels.
Students should arrive around 7:15 to begin registration.
Signs will be posted directing students to registration areas.
Students should bring:
  ⚬ No. 2 HB pencils
  ⚬ A calculator (any calculator with QWERTY is not allowed). We do not provide calculators.
  ⚬ A printed registration ticket
  ⚬ Valid Emirates ID or passport
  ⚬ Food for the break
All electronic devices will be collected, labeled, and returned at the end of the exam.
The exam directions begin at 8:00.
Gates close at 8:15 and no one is permitted after this time.
Students will be assigned seats.
Parents and visitors are not allowed in the exam room. Only authorized staff members are allowed.

NB:  Any student who talks, works on the incorrect section, or has an electronic device in his/her possession will be dismissed. These students will be asked to leave quietly, the exam will be cancelled, and a report will be sent to College Board. Any student who uses abusive language or who acts aggressively especially towards staff members could face an international ban of 1 year.


Waitlist

⚫ Regardless of which school a student attends, the waitlist is on a first come, first served basis.
⚫ Students should go directly to the Administration Building where Ms. Christine will stamp the registration ticket of students who are accepted.
⚫ By 8:15, students who do not have a place may be accepted if students are absent and there are enough booklets. We will do our best to accommodate students.


SAT Subject

⚫ SAT Subject Exams are 1 hour each with 5 minutes breaks in between.
⚫ Students may take up to 3 of their choice, but Biology E and Biology M may not be taken on the same day.
⚫ A calculator may be used for Mathematics Level 1 or Mathematics Level 2 only.


After the exam:

⚫ Please refer to College Board for the schedule of when scores will be issued. It is usually 2 weeks.
⚫ If a student’s score is cancelled, they will be dismissed and informed verbally.
⚫ We cannot help students from other schools obtain scores. Please see your counselor or the person who registered you. You need to log onto your account or your counselor will have access to reports using the school code.
⚫ Should you require your registration number, you may email the SAT Coordinator, Ms. Christine, at christine.sharon@dhafraschools.com. Please provide your name, the date of the exam, your school name, and your birthdate.


SAT and SAT with Essay Timings

DIRECTIONS: 30-45 MIN.
SECTION 1: READING 65 MIN.
BREAK: 10 MIN.
SECTION 2: WRITING & LANGUAGE 35 MIN.
SECTION 3: MATH (NO CALCULATOR) 25 MIN.
BREAK: 5 MIN.
SECTION 4: MATH (CALCULATOR) 55 MIN.
END OF SAT
BREAK: 2 MIN.
ESSAY: 55 MIN.
END OF SAT WITH ESSAY
